Support the Independent Bath campaign (and help boost our fundraising!)

Earlier this year, Visit Bath commissioned local artist Jessica Palmer to create a piece of art that would reflect the independent spirit of the city.

“The brief asked for a colourful, vibrant image which would spark interest in Bath's Independents”, said Jessica. “I found a reclaimed Victorian door, and Batheaston-based framers Lark Designs framed and built a stand for the piece. The finished artwork features glass blowing, cocktail mixing, cheese making, bookselling and much more, with decoupaged references to traditional crafts and the history of Bath.”

Jessica’s amazing creation was unveiled at the start of April and is due to be sold by auction at the end of May. And guess what? All proceeds from the sale will go towards We Get It’s initiatives to help local people dealing with cancer. Grateful thanks to Jessica and Visit Bath for choosing to support us and everyone in our community. We promise to do great things…

The unique artwork is currently on tour around some of Bath’s independent retailers (we last spotted it in the Abbey Hotel). The highest bidder at the end of May will get to take it home.

We love Jessica’s homage to independent makers and sellers in our city. If you do too, you can place your bid here. It’s your chance to purchase a one-off piece of local art and support another wonderful Bath independent – us!

You can find out more about the @VisitBath Independent Bath campaign on their website.
